Prof. Tofik Ahmed Shifa received his B.Sc. degree in Applied Chemistry in 2007 from Arba Minch University and his M.Sc. degree in Analytical Chemistry in 2011 from Haramaya University. He subsequently served as a Lecturer at Haramaya University for approximately three years before being admitted to the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS), in collaboration with the National Center for Nanoscience and Technology (NCNST), where he earned his Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry in 2018.

Following his doctoral studies, he worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Luleå University of Technology (LTU), Sweden, from 2019 to 2021. He then joined Ca’ Foscari University of Venice as a tenure-track researcher (2021–2024) and Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow. He is currently Associate Professor at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice.

His research focuses on nanoscience and nanotechnology. He leads funded research projects, supervises Master’s and Ph.D. students, and teaches courses in the field of nanoscience and technology.
