Short Bio

Marisa Agostini is Associate Professor of Accounting at Ca' Foscari University of Venice. She earned her International PhD in Management from the Graduate School of Economics of the same university in 2012. Following professional experience as a Chartered Accountant, Statutory Auditor and Certified Civil and Commercial Mediator, she pursued an academic career, first serving as Research Fellow and subsequently as Assistant Professor (fixed-term), before being appointed Associate Professor in 2022.

Her research focuses on the theoretical and empirical analysis of corporate financial reporting, with particular emphasis on both mandatory and voluntary disclosure. Her main research interests include financial accounting and accounting standards, sustainability reporting and non-financial disclosure, corporate risk disclosure, the application of Big Data Analytics to corporate reporting systems, and accounting history.

She is actively engaged in academic governance, research coordination, and the international academic community. She regularly presents her research at leading international conferences and serves as reviewer for internationally recognized journals and academic book series.
