The (in)visibilization society: religion(s), technologies, and politics
Technological change has clearly entered a new phase that is profoundly transforming current societies – from the most public spaces to the most private ones. In this context, how are the (re)presentations of religious practices and identities changing in the media, social media, and the internet? And what consequences could these transformations have in terms of the (re)production of social inequalities globally? In her talk, professor Ana Cárdenas Tomažič will discuss these questions from the perspective of the politics of social (in)visibilization, a term she coined as part of the new concept and perspective she is developing to analyze contemporary societies: the (in)visibilization society.
