This is one of the electives courses within the China curriculum of the BA Degree in "Lingue, Culture e Società dell'Asia e dell'Africa Mediterranea" (humanistic, economic and legal institutions sub-curricula).
The course contributes to the achievement of the BA objectives by providing an in-depth introduction to major social dynamics occurred in China since 1949. The course is thematic in nature and it is structured in a series of monographic lessons. Its coherence with the relevant BA degree is ensured by making use of a conceptual approach drawn from the tehory of institutions, that facilitates the establishment of cross-disciplinary connection with other curricular teachings focusing on history, law, economy, and language.
Expected results are (a) a robust knowledge of social dynamics introduced during the course, and (b) the capacity to individuate causes and consequences of such dynamics. In order to achieve these results, students are assisted by the teacher in familiarizing with key concepts, needed for a meaningful engagement with these social dynamics.
