The in-field Laboratory is the experimental validation carried out in direct contact with the environmental matrixes (soil, water and organisms) of the knowledge acquired with the theoretical and practical in-laboratory courses in a multidisciplinary approach, which includes the scientific areas of earth sciences, animal and plant ecology, microbiology and chemistry.
Students learn to experiment in the field theoretical and practical methods of different disciplines in a multidisciplinary approach and to prepare a final report that demonstrates the achieved learning level, the ability to organize the tasks and interpret the data obtained using analytical and synthetic skills.
The student must have passed all the exams of the first year except Economics and Environmental Politics. The student must have also attended the following courses of the second year: Analytical chemistry and laboratory, Geodynamics and Laboratory, Ecology I and Laboratory.
During one week in the Dolomitic area of Falcade (BL) in field experiments of geology, geomorphology, pedology, vegetation science, ecology, chemical and biological analyses for river water quality are carried out. The management of forest resources and few cases of serious hydrogeological instability of the territory are also discussed. Seminars are given for preparing the in field work and debating environmentally important issues.
Support materials (Charts, handouts etc.) are provided for the students
