The couirerse belong to the "Environmental Control and Remediation" curriculum and aims at providing core hydrologic concepts to understand, manage and model superficial and groundwater water resources.
The course deals with the components of the hydrologic cycle, i.e., precipitation, evaporation, transpiration, ground-water flow, surface runoff. Basic elements of fluid dynamics are presented. Students are introduced to both field and modeling methods for the management and evaluation of water resources.
- Correct use of terms and concepts used to describe basic physical hydrologic processes including evaporation, transpiration, precipitation, infiltration, ground-water flow and surface runoff;
- Comprehension of the hydrologic cycle and the ways Humans iinteract with it;
- Comprehension of the basic concepts of geophysical fluid dynamics;
- Evaluation of interdisciplinary water resource management systems.
