In the context of a program that offers a complete qualification in the business field, through a solid integration of management, economic, legal and quantitative knowledges, the course focuses on the legal management of labor.
Pursuant to the mentioned target, the course aims at analyzing the most relevant institutions of labor law, as construed by case-law and implemented by collective agreements. The approach is pragmatic and case-oriented. Therefore, the course is directed to students oriented towards a dynamic and innovative labor market, as it is nowadays developing in Italy.
It is advised, for the improvement of the preparation of the subject, to attend the free choice teaching of Social Security Law, held by prof. Maurizio Falsone in the same period(2)


By actively attending the lectures and by taking in the class activities, as well as by the individual study, the students will earn:
1. Knowledge and comprehension;
1.1. Labor law institutions;
2. Ability to combine knowledge and comprehension;
2.1 Ability to orient themselves in the current labor market, either as an employee or as an employer;
3. Ability to evaluate own rights and duties as an employee; ability to benefit from the opportunities in labor management and awareness of the limits set by the legal framework.
The course assume knowledge of private law.
It is advised, for the completion and improvement of the preparation of the subject, to attend the free choice teaching of Social Security Law, held by prof. Maurizio Falsone in the same period.
The sources of employment and labor law;
Employee and Employer Organizations;
Collective Bargaining: levels, validity, effects, and relationship with other law sources;
Labor Conflict;
The formation and the types of work arrangements: employment subordination, self-employement and other forms of collaboration;
New contractual schemes;
New wage settings and company-related variable salary schemes, employee involment and company welfare schemes;
The organization, the structure of the firm and the forms of outsourcing: agency work, transfer of undertakings, procurement contracts, employee posting, co-employment;
Termination and suspension of the employment relationship;
Social and unemployment benefits;
The forms of protection of employment rights.

The exam consist in an oral test.
During the examination the student:
A. have to demonstrate knowledge of the topics exposing them in a correct way, through the appropriate use of legal language. This assessment weight 70% of the overall assessment.
B. if attending all the lessons, the stuident have to demonstrate the knowledge acquired during group discussions or; if not attending, can demonstrate the knowledge acquired through the individual study of a topic . The evaluation of this knowledge weight to 30% of the overall evaluation.
The assessment of this knowledge has a weight equal to 30% of the overall assessment, but it is not mandatory, In their absence the assessment will be 100% based on the knowledge of the topics covered during the course and exposure in a correct way..
Teaching is organized in: a) lectures accompanied by educational material available on the e-learning platform of moodle.unive.it; b) thematic studies analyzed, discussed and presented by small groups in the classroom (for attending students); c) individual thematic examinations on topics chosen by the student himself presented during the oral examination (for those not attending).
