The course contributes to the educational objectives of the Master’s Degree Programme which aims at providing students to acquire the necessary skills in the administration and business management, focusing on the agri-food sector.
The course aims primarily at highlighting the conceptual elements of farm management. Then it will deepen models and techniques to analyze companies operating in the food and agricultural sector, giving relevance to the practical aspects connected to these instruments. In particular, it will i) provide tools for the interpretation of economic and financial farm cycle, ii) increase managerial skills in order to continuously improve the results in the short and long-term run and iii) analyze business plan.
1. Knowledge and understanding

- ability to know the correct administrative-accounting approach for agri-food companies
- ability to know the correct economic-financial approach for the management of agri-food companies

2. Applying knowledge and understanding

- ability to apply the procedures suitable for keeping company accounts and reading and interpreting the financial statements
- ability to apply the modern management tools related to the analysis of the balance sheet, strategic planning, the optimal allocation of production factors and the economic-financial control of the activities

3. Making judgements

- ability to solve problems concerning the planning of production processes
- be able to express a judgment regarding the economic-financial control of the activities
