The program is focused on the Human Resources Systems and Strategy. A double perspectives analyze the employer approach and the employee preferences. Strong emphasis is devoted the the set of systems and methods applied in human resources department and the roles of manager to develop the skills and competences of the employees. Some of the main themes coherent with students' learning path are: Labor Cost, Learning in Complex Organization, Exploitation and Development of Skills, Human Resources Managementsystems and its linkage to the business strategies, and Internationalization and Globalization of the labor markets.
The purpose is to focus on the strategic contributions of the human resources (HR) department to the strategic goals of the organization. We will highlight the challenges and dilemmas of today’s HR functions and departments. The emphasis is particularly focusing on how the design of an organizations HR architectures might support firms’ critical strategic capabilities. We will compare and discuss HR strategies in multinational and global companies and trends of labor relations in the future.
This course aims to improve the understanding of managerial implications of "managing people” and to evaluate the relationships between Human Resources Systems and the implementation of the business strategy. Strong attention is devoted to improve students’ capabilities to observe and compare the organizational context from different perspectives: the firms' ones and the individuals' point of view, and how to manage effectively the expectations.
Basic knowledge of Business Administration and Management (Accounting, strategy and some principles of management).
The contribution of intangible human assets (also known as people) to firm competitive advantage.
The limits and opportunities of the HRM function

Written exam + group and individual assignment for the students attending the course (0 to 4 points). Who do not partecipate to the workgroups could in any case reach the maximum evaluation.

The exam will be structured with open and multichoise questions. Particular attention for the evaluation of the open questions will be based on the skills acquired in term of: ability to connect different themes, capacity to go in depth on different matters, capacity to compare theory and execution.
Lectures, experiments, case discussions and simulations are relevant part of the learning process. Students are requied to visit the MOODLE application for further readings. Attendance is strongly suggested. All the slides are available on the MOODLE Platfom.
Attendance of lectures and the participation to small groups work are strongly suggested. These works concern with cases studies, comparative analysis of different industries and carrying out of short simulations.

The conditions will be subject to the university regulations of teaching activities during the pandemic. period.
