The course is an interdisciplinary one in Master's Degree in Economics and Finance, in the homonyum curriculum.
The course aims at explaning insurance companies and insurance contracts, including financial products issued by isurance companies.
1. Knowledge and understanding
1.1 Knowledge of insurance company in its different forms.
1.2 Knowledge and analysis of the organisational and functional structure of insurance companies.
1.3 Knowledge and analysis of insurance contracts.

2. Applied skills of knowledge and understanding
2.1 Ability to interpret and apply insurance law, in particular with regard to licensing, allowed activities, ownership, management requirement..
2.2 Ability to identify proper rules for every figure of insurance company and to apply conduct rules, also deriving from codes of ethic.
2.3 Ability to identify proper rules for every insurance contract.

3. Evaluation
3.1 Comprehension of the text of the law.
3.2 Ability to analyse legal consequences of every insurance enterprise’s form choice.
3.3 Ability to balance the different interests concerning the different insurance contracts.

4. Communication skills
4.1 Proper reporting of the specific features of insurance law.
4.2 Critical and dialogical interaction with the examiners during the examination.
Students are expeted to know the contents of the courses of Private Law and Business/Commercial (and Economic) Law.
Insurance contracts and insurance companies in:

- Civil code;
- Code of Private Insurance;
- Consolidated Law on Finance.
Code of Private Insurance (edition updated).

Additional learning material (such as doctrine articles, judgements, etc.) will be posted on the teacher’s Moodle platform.
The final exam consists exclusively in an oral test in order to verify the knowledge and the comprehension of the course contents.
