The year 2021 marks the fiftieth anniversary of the entry of the People’s Republic of China into the UN. The teaching aims to analyze the most relevant steps and the most significant changes
occurred in recent decades in the field of Chinese foreign policy, with particular attention to the action of the PRC within the United Nations
A clear and in-depth understanding of the fundamental dynamics of China's foreign policy and its approach to international relations during the past 50 years, marked during the last years by an increasingly active and participatory commitment and engagement within the UN.
An in-depth knowledge of the history of contemporary China, with particular reference to the history of the People's Republic of China
The United Nations: its birth and some general aspects; The entry of the PRC into the UN: some historical premises; Chinese foreign policy in the last 50 years: continuity and changes; Chinese action within the UN: a general analysis; Chinese action within the UN: specific aspects (e.g., with reference to the main UN agencies)

For the specific parts: the essential bibliography will be provided gradually during the lessons and made available to non-attending students on the university page of the teacher
