The Economics Lab will allow the student to learn contemporary issues in public economics.
The student will develop a general understanding of contemporary issues in public economics, with a special focus in the health care sector.
The student will demonstrate to have learnt the pro and cons of public interventions under local and global shocks such as COVID19.
There are not prerequisites to attend this course. However we advance the student to review principles of economics and statistics.
The importance of distance in the economy (eg social distance)
The impact of local shocks (eg COVID19) on the economic agents (eg hospitals, patients etc)

Policy interventions in presence of shocks
Selection of journal articles
The exam will cover all the course (100% of the exam)
It will be a written exam. Students will be able to answer to a set of open questions. Students will need to answer to all questions.
Frontal lectures with slides. Interaction with students through open discussion in the class. Students will be encouraged to participate.
