Provide the students with the fundamental concepts and laws of Chemistry.
Give to the students a good knowledge of Stoichiometry.
1. Knowledge and understanding
a) Students are expected to learn about chemical properties and behavior
of atoms and molecules on the atomic scale and how these behaviors can
determining the macroscopic properties and reactivity of elements e
compounds.
b) They will have to learn the quantitative laws governing balances
physical and chemical, and energy exchanges in electrochemical systems.

2. Ability to apply knowledge and understanding
a) Students must be able to calculate concentrations,
pressures, electrochemical potentials etc for species involved in equilibria and redox reactions.
b) Students must be able to correlate the macroscopic properties of substances to the atomic and molecular properties, depending on the type of bonds present in the molecules.

3. Judgment capacity
a) At the end of the course they should be able to resolve, reasonably
scientific and logical, stoichiometry problems using their own
chemical and mathematical knowledge.
b) must be able to interpret experimental facts in the light of chemical theory (atomic structure, bond, equilibria, etc.).

4. Communication skills
They will have to be able to communicate and explain, with correct chemical terms,
all course contents.
They must be able to draw up a simple but rigorous relationship
written about their laboratory experiences.

5. Learning skills
a) students must be able, with the knowledge acquired, to follow and understand the lessons of the next more specialized courses
b) take notes, selecting and collecting information according to their importance and priority.
