The course is strongly suggested for students that have mandatory additional credits (OFA), i.e. students that did not reach the 15-threshold in the TOLC-I entrance test. (http://www.cisiaonline.it/area-tematica-tolc-ingegneria/la-prova-line/ ). However, the course is open and suggested also to students without OFA that are keen to review basic math principles before starting the courses of the Environmental Sciences curriculum.

The module aims at synthetically reviewing basic math skills, acquired during the first 3-4 years of the secondary school with the goal of completing successfully activities of the first year of the Degree and pass the test TOLC-I.

Exercises from previous tests will be analyzed.
Knowledge and understanding
- Properties of numbers (natural, integer, rational, real) and of operations;
- Principles for solving polynomial, exponential, logarithmic, trigonometric, irrational equations and inequalities;
- Properties of elementary functions.

Applying knowledge
- Handling of expressions with power elevation, exponential, logarithm, trigonometric functions;
- Solving polynomial, exponential, logarithmic, trigonometric, irrational equations and inequalities equations and inequalities;
- Plotting graph of elementary functions.
