The Course of Chemical and Biochemical Plants deals with technical aspects related to services (energy, transport and storage fluids, etc.) and to unit operations (heat exchangers, reactors, etc.) in industrial processes. The topics covered in the course are preparatory to the study of any application of industrial processes for the recovery of industrial reject and waste, civil and industrial wastewater treatment, completing the student's know-how in the context of environmental control and remediation.
Students will learn the fundamentals of the most important heat transfer and separation unit operation for chemical and biochemical industrial plants as well as reactors particularly applied to pollution control.
It is required a basic knowledge of Chemistry, Physics and Mathematic.
Energy,cooling,refrigeration services for a plant.
Transport and storage of fluids
Heat transfer and its application
Heat exchangers ( without phase change, reboiler, condenser)
Solid- liquid separation : filtration
Chemical and biochemical reactors.
