The purpose of teaching is to provide students with the basics of writing a text of literary criticism. It proposes the revisiting and the study of some pages of the Italian literature, the study and exercises of application of the main methodologies of approach to the literary text. Particular attention will be paid to comment the text.
The following skills will be required from the student: 1) Ability to read a text and orientation in its literary historical context. 2) Capacity of autonomous orientation in the main critical bibliography offered during the course and knowledge of the philological and stylistic instrumentation 3) written test: appropriate terminology, clarity, selection and ability of synthesis, of argumentation and topics linking, ability to choose citations, mastering the main traditional and online typographic standards.

1) Good knowledge of the Italian language and competence of the philological and methodological basics in the approach to the text. 2) Ability to work autonomously at home and careful review of their own elaborates. 3) Good knowledge of the Italian literature and criticism 4) Ability to compare with other literatures.
1) Texts of poetry, narrative and criticism will be proposed and presented; they will be illustrated and discussed during the lessons, with particular attention to: Andrea Zanzotto: "Galateo in bosco" and "Europa melograno di lingue", Vittorio Sereni, "Stella variabile"; Luigi Meneghello, "Il turbo e il chiaro" and "Libera nos a Malo", Daniele Del Giudice "Mania" and "In questa luce".2) The critical debate concerning the work and the author will be examined in general and the different modalities of reading the texts will be illustrated and discussed 3) the readings and the analyses will be complemented with critical writing samples which may serve as a model, such as: Montale critic, Giovanni Raboni critic, Maria Corti, Cesare Segre, Pier Vincenzo Mengaldo and others

The student will present and discuss the three main elaborations carried out during the course and then corrected by the teacher 2) the student must be able to reformulate and reorganize the defective parts of his writings 3) he must be able to: a) discuss, with an appropriate language, the theoretical topics addressed b) introduce the chosen authors c) offer a clear presentation of the chosen work.
1) frontal lessons and traditional method integrated by online support 2) written tutorials (construction of a bibliography, syntactic and grammatical tests, argumentation, linguistic registers, etc.) will be proposed for each lesson 2) The student will produce three writings, which he shall do at home, following precise indications.
