Teaching is among the compulsory basic training activities for students enrolled in the degree courses in Literature and History.
The student acquires awareness and skills related to the fundamental spatial and geographical concepts and to the essential contents of the human and cultural geographic discipline; includes new perspectives of the concepts of place and culture; moreover it will come to know the complex relationships that distinguish the different territorial structures; know how to read the main spatial, socio-demographic and cultural dynamics characterized by a multiplicity of manifestations at different geographical scales; have developed awareness and sense of responsibility towards the territorial dynamics, for the purposes of a correct management of the territory and the landscape.
Basic knowledge of Geography acquired in secondary school of first and second degree.
The course aims to emphasize the conceptual and methodological foundations of human geography and cultural geography in order to develop a globalized vision of the facts and problems of the contemporary world; to propose models of interpretation and conceptual tools for geographic analysis, by getting to know and using critically the new information technologies applied in the field of geographical studies. In addition, topics such as: cultural landscapes and intercultural processes, the sense of place and territorial identity, education to the territory (to the values ​​and resources of places, their knowledge and understanding), educating the territory (interpreting it, representing it) will be discussed, teach it, manage it, protect it, plan its future), human mobility in history and space, migratory phenomena in the current world and the impact of policies on migratory flows.

For the oral exam the following are considered and evaluated: relevance, argumentative clarity, critical analysis ability, ability to re-elaborate, reflect, etc.
Attending students will prepare the exam according to the instructions given by the teacher during the lessons, drawing partly from the texts indicated in the bibliography, partly to further material provided during the lecture by the teacher, integrating the preparation with group insights in the form of a written report on agreed themes.
Non-attending students will prepare the exam exclusively on the texts indicated in the bibliography.
Frontal, participatory, operative lesson. Explication and sharing of the objectives to be pursued. Group work.
The teaching coincides with the second part of the 12 cfu course.
