Through the recognition of current studies on translation, we intend to indicate the essential references to a plurilingual and multidisciplinary definition of the literature phenomenon, with particular application to the poetic text.
The course aims to introduce biennial students to the theory of translation with application reference to poetic translation. The educational objectives concern:
to. the basic understanding of the main definitions of theories that characterize nineteenth and twentieth century poetry and their reuse in the current context b) ability to recognize these formulas in contexts and languages ​​not dealt with directly in frontal lectures c) ability to apply historical terminology- specific literary d) these competences concerning the functioning of the poetic text and the development of the theory of translation must be considered advanced competences in the literary-cultural curriculum.

The study of literary translation indicates the centrality of the author / language / reader triangulation in the process of resemanting the original text in the translation text. But the correlation of linguistic and literary hermeneutics is connected to the critical task of understanding and interpreting the text. The critical interpretation is in fact the fourth factor that determines the translation strategies within a literary system. Special relevance will be given to the problems of translation of the poetic text, due to the theoretical depth and the historical interest they constitute.
Appropriate secondary reading in english may be suggested during the course.
