This course introduces students to psychological science. Based on the analysis of the historical context, theories and methodology of psychological science will be presented. From Wundt and Freud to the most recent research in the field of cognitive science and sociology psychology, the fundamental theoretical concepts for the understanding of psychic and social dinamics will be presented.
Students will have to get to know the basic concepts of psychology and their possible application to social work.
It is expected that they will be able to know in depth the functioning of the main cognitive processes and the importance of their knowledge for the helping profession.
The course does not provide any prerequisite only a curiosity for the functioning of the human mind.
