The course aims to develop the two language skills (speaking and listening) integrated way (e.g. Talking with correct pronunciation and accent) so as to allow the students to have a communicative self-sufficiency of level A2, as defined by the CEFR.
The study will include a careful analysis of subcontinent culture, a fundamental aspect of achieving satisfactory results in linguistic and extra linguistic competence, as well as in the relationship with the Pakistani context.
The course aims to enable the Students to communicate in every-day context. Consequently they will be able to express their feelings, emotions, motivations and opinions.
Knowledge of grammar and communication skills in Urdu at elementary level (A1), keeping in mind that the lessons will be taught primarily in Urdu and the final exam will be in Urdu.
As regards communication skills, the focus will be on: describing habits, recounting present and past experiences and events; express feelings, moods, doubts, opinions; communicate approval, agreement and disagreement, express interest/ disinterest, indicate advantages and disadvantages.
As regards grammar, the work will focus on: concordances of the simple sentences of past, present and future, use of some subordinating conjunctions.
The vocabulary learned will be mainly related to current issues and daily life: family relationships, social relationships, art, literature, society, culture, news and media.
Culture will be understood both in its broadest sense, underlining those elements useful for everyday life in subcontinent specially Pakistan.

Handouts and any other texts may be distributed / recommended during the course of the lessons.
Oral examination
Speaking: Presentation of a cultural topic in Urdu language and dialogue on the cultural issues covered by the course.
Listening: An audio or video recording will be played twice, Questions will be asked accordingly.
