The course belongs to the characterizing teaching activities of the Bachelor's Degree Programmes in Philosophy, placing itself within the teachings of the historical-philosophical area. The educational objective of the course is to provide knowledge related to the history of contemporary philosophy, as developed after the conclusion of the Hegelian idealistic system. At the end of the course are expected students' understanding and knowledge about the main authors and problems of the nineteenth-twentieth-century Western thought, as well as the ability to apply such knowledge in order to compare different philosophical theories, catching similarities and differences, and in order to be able to argue in critical way about the expounded historical-philosophical problems.
At the end of the course the students
1) should demonstrate knowledge and understanding of all relevant themes of contemporary philosophy;
2) should have the ability to analyze in argumentative way the proposed materials;
3) could communicate and discuss the ideas and the most important problems of contemporary philosophy.
Knowledge of the history of philosophy (from the Greek origins to Hegel).
Subjectivity, Intersubjectivity and Language in the Philosophy of XX Century.

Only Chapters: II, III, IV, V, VI (6.1, 6.2, 6.6, 6.9, 6.10), VII.
The evaluation will be based on a oral exam. The students should demonstrate
1) knowledge and understanding of themes, problems and authors of the examination text;
2) the ability to communicate such themes and problems in clear and argumentative way.
Teaching method is standard lecture.
