Provide basic scientific knowledge on wave phenomena and show how the development of knowledge on human auditory perception is reflected in different fields, ranging from art to technology.
The student will have understood the "backstage" of music, the physical and perceptive phenomena behind this marvellous human enterprise.
Knowledge of the main concepts of arithmetic, algebra and trigonometry (at the secondary school level).
The physics of waves. What is sound. The human perception of sound. The music and musical instruments.

The examination takes place through an oral test. During the oral exam the student must demonstrate both knowledge of the arguments put forward during the course and the way to formally exhibit them.
The different topics will be explained with the aid of small experiments, videos and images.
