Basic knowledge of music history.
Lessons will focus on the dynamics of consumption of Italian art music for the church, theatre concerts and private music-making, and on how compositional style and performance practices respond to these dynamics. If the number of students is not eccessively high, the second half of the course will be devoted to one or more research projects on the economics of music history, undertaken by students with the teacher's personal supervision.
