The course is intended to introduce the main IT technologies used in the management of cultural heritage. In particular, the course will introduce the basic concepts of computers (binary representation of data, architecture, algorithms), how data is structured in information systems (in particular in relational databases), and a concrete language (SQL) that allows to manage such systems.
The student will be able to deal with the main technologies used in the management of cultural heritage. In particular, the student will be introduced to the main topics about
- data representation in information systems

- computational thinking
- databases in information systems
- entity relationship diagrams

The exam will consist of a seminar and a written test. During the seminar, the student will present an information system for the arts ant its technological peculiarities.
The written exam is focused towards assessing the topics of the course through exercises where the concepts presented over the course will be applied.
