The course is based on the Social Work Theoretical disciplines and focuses the Social Work’s Assessment themes and the methodologies. These issues are typical of the planning dimension of the interventions aimed to help individuals, families and communities. In the first part of the course the students will learn the main tools utilized to help groups and communities. The course explains the different approaches and theoretical models of evaluation, The course focuses different kinds of assessment related to practical situations to support connections between theory and practice. The characteristics of social projects, the connections between theoretical models and the strategies to achieves social aims will be addressed. In the final part of the course the students will learn social programming and different approaches to deal with meso and macro social issues.
The students, at the end of the course, will know the main theoretical approaches to evaluation, planning and social programming. They will be able to build a social work evaluation design and monitoring process of evaluation. They will refer to the main approaches and theoretical models regarding the assessment of social services’ efficacy. They will acquire social work key point of view to make connection between theoretical knowledge and practice.
It is advised to have sustained the exam of Methodologies of Social Work 1 but it is not a mandatory prerequisite.

The contexts and models of social programming;
Principle of subsidiarity in programming.
