The course of Specialised and Media Spanish Translation is held in the second year of a Master's degree course with a strong professional vocation in translation and interpreting. The course aims to consolidate written translation methodologies, with particular reference to the problems of specialised translation between cognate languages (Spanish/Italian). The concept of specialized translation will be dealt with as an act of interlinguistic and intercultural mediation. The main objective is to enable students to deal effectively with the translation process of specialised texts from Spanish into Italian and from Italian into Spanish. Translating practice will always be accompanied by accurate reflection both on the linguistic level and on the contrastive and translatological one. In the light of this, the teaching will have a strong practical-applicative character, always based on modern contemporary traduttological theories. In line with the course, the metalinguistic reflection and the interlinguistic comparison will be two central aspects in conducting the course also from the point of view of the linguistic affinity between Spanish and Italian. The course consists of a semester module of 30 hours.
The course of Specialised and Media Spanish Translation aims to strengthen students' translating skills in the light of the theory, methodology and practice of specialised translation between Spanish and Italian, with particular emphasis on linguistic aspects in a translator-oriented key.
