A fundamental course in the perspective of a BA level training in Iranian studies, the Persian Language 3 course is to be understood as the completion of the LICSAAM didactic project for students who chose to study Persian, as far as the linguistic perspective is concerned. In particular, the course dialogues with both the language and literature courses of the first and second years, but also with the Iranian Philology and the Literary Genres and Translation courses.
The Persian Language 3 course aims at providing the students with an intermediate level of linguistic competence in spoken and written Persian (B2). In particular, after the first two years of detailed and articulated study of the grammar of the Persian language, the Persian Language 3 course aims to complete the students' training with the basic syntax notions with the aim of taking the students to face the linguistic reality of complex texts, in order to finally apply the acquired linguistic skills.
Students must have at least an elementary level of linguistic proficiency in spoken and written Persian (A2)
The first seven lessons will be devoted to the study of subordinate sentences, with particular attention to the use of verbal forms. We will proceed in the following lessons with the study of texts in prose of progressive difficulty (didactic and literary), analyzing them in all their aspects: morphological, syntactic, semantic, pragmatic, standard language and diglossia. Particular attention will be given to the translation into Italian of verbal tenses.

The exam consists in two parts: some sentences to be translated from Italian to Persian without the dictionary, and a translation/transliteration from Persian to Italian (with dictionary). The exam includes an individual test of the student's competences of spoken Persian and reading by CEL, Dr. Heidari.
