The course is part of the Linguistic and Cultural Mediation programme of Ca' Foscari University and aims to improve the theoretical and practical knowledge learnt in module I in order to carry out efficiently a Spanish-Italian negotiation interpreting service. Among the objectives of the course: developing the students' skills related to public speaking, and coping effectively with different communicative situations, applying the techniques and strategies learnt.
Students will learn the differences between negotiation, consecutive and simultaneous interpreting (including chuchotage). They will consolidate sight translation, memorization and note-taking techniques, and improve their cultural and social awareness skills applied to interpreting.
A very good knowledge of both Spanish and Italian languages is required.
The Spanish-Italian Negotiation Course Module I is preparatory to Module II, therefore only students who have attended the course as required and successfully passed the Module I exam are eligible to take the Module II exam.
