Introduction to medieval philosophy. Dante as a philosopher.
Ability to understand a medieval philosophical text, to be aware of the general subjects of medieval philosophy and to have a deeper knowledge of the main topics of the course.
There is no mandatory prerequisite, but a previous general knowledge of history of ancient and medieval philosophy could be useful
In the first part of the course we will analyze the notion of "medieval philosophy" in its historical, ideological and cultural traits. In a second part we will focus on Dante's "philosophy".
The precise program of the course, including handbooks, texts, essays, will be communicated later.
The modality of examination consists in an oral exam, but the precise nature of the exam will be explained at the beginning of the course.
