The teaching completes the course of study in business economics by focusing on the labour law profiles of business administration. In particular, it offers the legal skills necessary for a correct and effective management, ordinary and extraordinary, of human resources in companies of all sizes and in every sector of activity. The skills acquired are also indispensable for the exercise of the liberal profession, in particular to perform the functions of accountant and labour consultant.
Students will acquire the ability to understand the main legal issues involved in human resources management activities, both individually and collectively. Secondly, they will be able to apply the knowledge acquired by solving ordinary and extraordinary problems that may arise, with autonomous evaluation skills. Students will also acquire the technical language typical of the discipline in order to communicate clearly and unambiguously with specialist and non-specialist interlocutors, both inside and outside the company. Finally, students will develop adequate learning skills that allow them to update themselves autonomously and to deepen their knowledge of the discipline in relation to the working context in which they will be working.
Students must have the basic knowledge of private and commercial law, as well as essential skills in business management and work organisation.
The evolution of labour law and its sources; collective bargaining; trade unions and workers' representation in the company; employment contracts: from self-employment to subordinate work; "non-standard" employment contracts; equality and prohibition of discrimination; employment relationship discipline: workers' rights and obligations, employer's powers and limits, suspension of the employment relationship: accident, illness, leave and other abstention; company transfer, individual dismissal, company crisis and collective redundancies, social security.

The verification of learning consists of an oral examination on the main topics dealt with in class and on case studies proposed to the students during the lessons.
The course will be articulated in frontal lessons, practical exercises, also of groups, meetings with experts or operators of the subject.
