The course is a core educational activity in the Bachelor's Degree Programme in Economics and Management.
It is intended to illustrate the different structures for business (sole proprietorship, partnership, company, and corporation), particularly focusing on the relevant legal provisions and issues. A signifcant part of the course concerns corporate law.
1. Knowledge and Understanding
1.1 Knowledge of both sole proprietorships and partnerships business structures
1.2 Knowledge of the legal aspects of the business activity
1.3 Knowledge and analysis of the organisational and functional structure of commercial companies

2. Applying Knowledge and Understanding
2.1 Recognizing the differnt types of entrepreneurs based on the nature, dimension, and form of the activity
2.2 Identifying the rules applicable to the differnt types of entrepreneur
2.3 Understanding the differn form of enterprise from an organizational and functional standpoint

3. Making Assessments
3.1 Comprehension of legal provisions
3.2 Capability of evaluating the legal consequences of the option for a certain business structure
3.3 Capability of balancing the different interests involved in the business activity both as a sole proprietorship, partnership, company, and corporation

4. Communication Skills
4.1 Capability of describing the specific features of corporate law, making use of an appropriate terminology
4.2 Critical and dialogical interaction with the examiners during the examination

7.1. Financial corporate structure (shares, bonds, separate estates dedicated to a specific business purpose)

The final exam consists exclusively in an oral examination aimed to assess the student's knowledge and comprehension of the course contents, her or his capability of properly illustrating them and of consulting legal texts.
