The course is part of the related and supplementary courses of the master's degree course in “EGART”. Awareness of historical practice and theories on Museums and their restoration contribute to the improvement of the transversal skills of the learners in the historical-artistic and curatorial fields.
-Awareness of the main theoretical issues concerning the discipline;
-improvement of a critical approach to primary and secondary sources;
-improvement of a critical approach to Museums and their display;
-a critical approach to the contemporary world;
-ability to do research and to communicate results.
A basic knowledge in History of Western Art would be desiderable.
M. and C.of R. will focus on the relationship between Museum as a building and work of Art as an object in the 20th century debate.
Venice and its public and private collections will be a meaningful case Study.

Due to the contemporary circumstances, last part of the corse will be a focus on Museums and Pandemia.

Documentary appendices and further reading will be reported in class.
Non-attending students can agree on readings in addition to the institutional part.

synchronic use of types of study and research material;
educational visits according to the current health situation;
