Waterlines is a project of the International College of Ca’ Foscari University, Fondazione di Venezia and San Servolo srl.
Waterlines is a project of the International College of Ca’ Foscari University, Fondazione di Venezia and San Servolo srl, which stems from the desire to share and to relate past experiences of residence acquired by the three institutions above-mentioned, to create a new program which combines writing with other artistic disciplines and to reaffirm the role of Venice as a place of artistic and cultural production.
The goal of the program is to offer, on special invitation, an experience of residency in Venice that will last about four weeks each to an internationally renowned writer but also to an artist less celebrated who is not necessarily committed in the same artistic expression: this is arranged to allow more interactions, contaminations and the creation of possible joint projects.
The artist in residence is required to make available his personal experience at public meetings of international scope, sharing with the City moments of reflection and deepening around his work, its culture and its country of origin. Participating in opportunities for discussion and debate at the teaching spaces in the island of San Servolo. The host through his/her unique form of expression, an essay, a short story, a poem, a diary or other forms of art, will give testimony to its Venetian residential experience.
The artists will work in contact with the students of the International College Ca’ Foscari participating in opportunities for discussion and debate at the teaching spaces of the parters institutions. The names of the artists and other details about the workshops will be published as soon as possible.

This subject deals with topics related to the macro-area "International cooperation" and contributes to the achievement of one or more goals of U. N. Agenda for Sustainable Development
