The Basic Latin Laboratory is a teaching activity of the Department of Humanities at Ca' Foscari University of Venice. It is directed to students enrolled in the Bachelor's Degree Programme, who do not have adequate basic preparation in the Latin language and who need to pass the language proficiency test prior to the FT0435 Language and Latin literature exam. To access this exam it is in fact mandatory to have obtained a Basic Latin certificate which will be delivered in case of successful passing of the test. Nevertheless, attendance to the FT0435 Latin language and literature course is also possible for those who have not yet passed the test.
The test is held by the teacher of the Basic Latin Laboratory. It is possible to take the test during all terms. Please contact the teacher in charge of the activity to find out the dates on which they will be held. Nevertheless, it is strongly recommended that you take the test in the first sessions of the 1st semester; those who are unable to pass it will thus have the opportunity to attend the Laboratory activities.
