The course in interpreting from Italian to Italian Sign Language (LIS) is one of the main courses of the master's degree course in Interpreting.
The general objectives of the course are: the acquisition of skills and abilities that allow the correct passage from one language to another taking into account the specific expressive modalities, acoustic vocal one and visual gestural the other; deepening and comparison of the texts between the two languages and the development of interpretation techniques both in consecutive and simultaneous mode, from the Italian sign language (Lis) to the Italian spoken language.
- understand texts in Lis of various kinds and with different linguistic registers;
- knowing how to apply knowledge and one's own cultural background for the analysis of different signing styles, recognizing in them the lexical, syntactic, pragmatic and cultural elements useful for the analysis;
- knowing how to process the incoming message in Lis and, through the cognitive process of interpretation, rework it to produce the equivalent outgoing message in Italian.
- analyze texts of various kinds in spoken Italian in order to identify the prosodic and stylistic elements useful for a correct rendering, in the interpretative passage, of the incoming language (Lis)
- develop the ability to control the "in itinere" interpretative process to be able to correct any errors or oversights during the performance of the interpretation itself.
- to acquire the habit of immediate resolution of stylistic and / or content problems.
- develop good self-analysis skills, even after the performance has been rendered (for example, by reviewing the video recording of the interpretation done).
- acquire a global vision of the profession of the interpreter, its practice, ethics and professional behaviour.
