The course aims to improve the knowledge and competence of the student in the Arabic language as a work tool in the various topics covered by the course of study, with a specific focus on sectorial languages, mostly media, political-diplomatic, social and economic, through the use of media, internet sources, political analysis, and scholarly texts
The expected results are an intermediate-advanced level (B-2) of knowledge and competence in Modern Standard Arabic (MSA), with particular regard to media and socio-political language.

The course is based on the advanced study of modern standard Arabic (MSA) with particular attention to both written and oral production. It is mainly based on the deepening and analysis of specific languages ​​and their technical jargons, starting from the reading, comprehension, translation and discussion of journalistic and political sources. The course will follow the content organization of the textbook "Media Arabic (AUC, Cairo, 2014), focusing on the following thematic and lexical units:
- meetings and conferences
- demonstrations and protests
- elections
- conflicts and terrorism

The study of the following units will be integrated by the analysis of socio-political issues as well as of texts on current events that will be provided by the teacher.
