The course of "Special Education and Inclusive Didactics" is part of the teachings for the acquisition of 24 CFU university credits in the "anthropo-psycho-pedagogical disciplines and teaching methodologies and technologies.
Special Education doesn’t only concern students with disabilities (L.104/92) today, but it is addressed to all students in a disadvantaged situation or to those who need “special attention” for a variety of reasons, such as social and cultural disadvantage, specific learning disorders and/or specific developmental disorders, difficulties deriving from lack of knowledge of Italian language and culture deriving from the belonging to different cultures. This area of scholastic disadvantage, which includes different problems, is indicated as the area of "Special Educational Needs" (SEN). Three great macro-categories are included in SEN: the category of disability, that of specific developmental disorders and that of socio-economic, linguistic and cultural disadvantage.
The course aims at responding to the main difficulties of functioning that today you commonly find in the classroom. Therefore, the course aims at exploring the main pedagogical bases and the inclusive teaching methods.
At the end of the training path, each student will have acquired the basic knowledge relating to the course's topics, useful for defining the personal profile of "inclusive teacher". This knowledge could be experimented and adopted as a "forma mentis" in daily teaching practice.
