This course first represents a stage of consolidation and improvement of the linguistic skills acquired during the undergraduate course. The aim of the course is therefore to introduce students to different kind of contemporary Persian texts, like roman, novel, essay, poetry,etc. studing the specific lexicon, structure of sentence and idiomatic sentences.
On the other hand, a seminar is planned on the following topic: 'The Iranian education system: history, legislation and lines of development'. Students will be suggested classical and modern literary texts (prose and poetry) that show the development of the concept of 'education' in the way it has been expressed in literature. On the basis of these readings, taking into account a historical contextualization, students will try to outline the characteristics of the idea of education conveyed by literary texts. The seminar will include a written report and an oral exposition.

At the end of the course the student will acquire the theoretical and practical skills to face independently and critically the reading and translating of modern literary texts of different nature; will be familiar with the main tools necessary for the comprehension of the texts (specialized dictionaries, lexical databases, repertoires of idiomatic forms, checks on network of the use and the functions of particular linguistic expressions, etc.). The work with CEL will be focused in particular on the Media language.
Solid knowledge of Persian at an intermediate level.
Thematic and lexical analysis of texts.
