The course 'ICT for teaching and learning foreign languages' is one of the main activities of the Master in Didattica delle lingue straniere (MADILS). It allows students to acquire knowledge and understanding in the field of Educational Linguistics/Language education with reference to second/foreign languages and the use of Internet technologies. The specific goal of the course is to develop knowledge and understanding in the field of foreign language teaching planning through the application and integration of new technologies. In particular, the course will encourage students to learn and use methodologies and teaching approaches aiming at creating collaborative and interactive learning environments, alongside planning for language teaching online.
Knowledge and understanding
The student will acquire knowledge and understanding in the field of language teaching technologies, with special regard to the evolution of ICT for language teaching and their role as learning catalysts.

Ability to apply knowledge and understanding
The student will be able to analyse, interpret and develop language teaching proposals in light of the study materials and the activities proposed.

Making judgments
The student will be able to analyse and evaluate the application of language teaching approaches using new technologies in view of their role in language learning.

At the beginning of the course, a handout and other reading will be suggested and uploaded on the Moodle page of the course (in the Materials folder).
Written exam with two tasks, one aimed at assessing content knowledge and the ability to elaborate an original interpretation of the course contents, the other aimed at assessing the ability to apply them in practice by planning a short teaching path with the use of ICT.
