This course concerning the war history will analyse the conflicts, war, their heritage and function in the politics of historical development of international relations. History becomes an instrument to study: 1) the concept and the political use of the war 2) the historical development and function of war in international relations.
Good knowledge and understanding skills applied to the international relations, to the comprehension of the concept of war in historical perspective, as well as to the planning of the presentation of own studies and working hypotheses
Good knowledge of global history.
The course will explore the relationship between war’s changing character and wider historical change. Other key topics will include aspects such as warfare in contemporary memory, cultural perceptions of war, ethics and genocide, supply and logistics, war and ideology, combat, mobilisation etc.
