The teaching comprises a theoretical module during the second semester as well as linguistic practice courses strictly linked to it and coordinated by the professor (first and second semester).
The main class objective is to build a basic a competence in comprehension of the french language at B1/B2 level through intercomprensive strategies between related languages, and achieve a linguistic competency equivalent to the B1 level in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
Detailed training objectives for:
1. Knowledge and understanding. Knowledge and awareness of intercomprehension strategies between related languages (from Italian or other languages to French)
2. Ability to apply knowledge and understanding. The competence of intercomprehension developed in the module allows to improve the learning of the language on the receptive and productive skills and mediation ability.
3. Autonomy of judgment. Ability to compare the functioning of one’s own language with that in learning and to compare French and Italian cultural elements.
4. Ability to communicate. Development and reinforcement of receptive skills to reach a level B1/b2 of the Common European Framework for Languages and Production up to B1
5. Learning ability. The student learns to develop a metalinguistic awareness and to build a portfolio that will carry on throughout the years of study, which testifies to the work done in the classroom and the ability to study independently.
A2 Level of the European framework
- Reading/listening to different documents in French related to the culture of France and French-speaking countries with comprehension and translation and mediation activities, through intercomprensive strategies.
- Laboratory of collaborative translation of a short story.


- The exercises will focus on the acquisition of the basic grammatical system and written competences.

- A written comprehension test, with comprehension questions, short translation, and grammatical test (3 hours).

- Mediation of a text (with 20 minutes for preparation)
