The course introduces basic technologies and concepts of various types of communication networks that use a distributed approach.
The student will get familiar with some of the technolgies adopted by recent communication networks and the research challenges that they offer
Basic elements of networking, the TCP/IP stack
The course will review the challenges of distributed networks, with special focus on routing and network formation, trying to make bridges with other fields of computer science (graph theory, AI). We will review classical networks (IP wired and mesh networks) and recent ones (5G).
