The main aim of this course is to provide an overview on Italy in terms of geography, history, culture, society and everyday life. It also aims to enable students to understand how the relationship between Italy’s history, economy, and consumerist practices during the last century has contributed to shape Italian identity, both nationally and internationally.
The second part of the course will focus on key Italian cultural products, their significance and symbolism, within industrial, leisure, food, and fashion sectors.

By the end of the course students will have become familiar with some places and regions of Italy, its main historical events and numerous cultural and social aspects.
No prerequisites are necessary to attend the course.
