Students who have not passed the test on Written Italian must take this class. This course aims at making up deficiencies in basic skills and prerequisites that are deemed necessary to successfully take the First Cycle Degree Programme in Letters. This course provides useful support for students who have been assigned additional educational debits in italian language.

There are no prerequisites.
Spoken and writing language. Italian Orthography. Division into syllables, use of capital letters. Logical structure of the text. Italian lexicon: "style" and "register", linguistic registers and contexts of use, idiomatic expressions, synonyms, generic words and specific words. Questions of Italian morphology and syntax: times and verbal modes; syntax of the simple and complex sentence, marked and unmarked order, coordination and subordination, implicit and explicit form, main syntax errors, meaningful concordances. Reading and understanding, "5 W", information hierarchy, paraphrase and summary, forms of quotation.
