This course is an Introduction to main themes, authors, and interpretations of the medieval philosophy.
Ability to understand a medieval philosophical text, to be aware of the general subjects of medieval philosophy and to have a deeper knowledge of the main topics of the course.
There is no mandatory prerequisite, but a previous general knowledge of history of ancient and medieval philosophy could be useful.
In the first part of the course we will introduce introductory ideas on medieval philosophy. In the monographic part we will focus on Marsilius of Padua's Defensor pacis.
The precise program of the course, including handbooks, texts, essays, will be communicated later.
