The course is one of the 3 parts of the Minor "Art Critic and Curatorial Practice" that aims to analyze the fundamentals of the history of art and the main artistic techniques, to develop an indepentent critical consideration and an adequate curatorial practice, in order to identify the changes in visual culture.
- knowledge and understanding: to know the basic terminology of the subject; to know the main the main materials and artistic techniques
- ability to apply knowledge and understanding: knowing how to use the reference terminology about works of art being studied
- communicative skills: knowing how to use appropriate and specific terminology, introduced and explained in lessons or in reference texts
- ability of judgment: knowing how to relate artistic materials and techniques to the artists studied, and to the correct temporal and cultural context
No prerequisite is required
The course aims to provide basic knowledge relating to materials and artistic techniques in their historical dimension through the description of some case studies. Particular emphasis will also be given to the innovations matured during the nineteenth-twentieth century artistic experiences with the introduction of new procedures and materials
The bibliography will be indicated at the beginning of the course.
The exam will be held in oral mode .
