The ARCHAEOLOGICAL GEOMATICS laboratory, within the training and orientation internship, wants to provide the main notions of survey and digital documentation methodologies in the archaeological field, fundamental for the acquisition of metrically correct and georeferenced data, representing the basis for archaeological research and reconstruction of the ancient landscape.
These skills are indispensable in the world of archaeological research and represent the ideal completion of basic methodological training, in order to train professionalism in archaeology, as well as in the wider cultural heritage field.
The course will offer students a package of fundamental knowledge in the field of digital archaeological survey and at the end of the module the student will be able to design a survey, evaluate the best technique that can be used in a determined context and present the archaeological sites according to archaeological standards of representation, obtaining a final product at a specific resolution suited to the different technical requests. In this way, the course follows the main principles of Descrittore di Dublino: 1. Knowledge and understanding, 2. Ability to apply knowledge and understanding, 3. Judgment skills, and 4. Communication skills.
