Contribution of the course to the overall degree programme goals
The main purpose of the course is to develop and strengthen linguistic skills in Hispanic-American Language described by level B2 (C 1 for the III year) of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Furthermore, the course aims to provide students with knowledge of the linguistic characteristics of Hispanic-American variants in a diachronic and synchronic perspective.
Expected learning outcomes
- Know the Hispanic-American Language at the B2 level (C1 at the third year) of the CEFR;
- Know the main features of the Hispanic-American Language and be able to identify and describe them;
- Develop judgment skills in relation with the course contents;
- Develop skills in individual processing, classroom interaction and independent comprehension of academic articles.

Grammatical, phonetic-graphic, lexical, textual content and functional exponents of the Hispanic-American language (CEFR level B2 and C1).

Assessment methods
Students who pass the written test will be required to take the oral test, which aims to verify the learning of the module content.
The final grade will be the average of the marks from both tests.
A student holding a DELE certification of the required level (B2 and C1) or higher, obtained no more than two years prior to the date of the exam, will be required to take only the oral test. The student is required to give the teacher a copy of the certificate before the exam. The grade obtained in the DELE certification (expressed in hundredths) will be converted into thirtieths, regardless of the level of the certification.
