The course aims to provide the student with the communicative language skills required in order to operate independently in the commercial world and is to be regarded as an extension of the English for Economics and Business 1 course. It aims to develop a knowledge of the language specific to various areas relating to international trade and tourism.

The course is at the B2.2 level of the CEFR.
The course provides a continuing systematic study of grammar and aims to develop the specific skills required in the field of international trade. Importance is given to the lexis specific to certain subject areas, e.g. finance and banking, environmental and cyber challeges, global mobility, alliances and acquistions, investment and risk management, innovation and new technologies and tourism. Further practice will be given in the development of language skills in the business context.
As from the academic year 2025/26, for students enrolling in the first year, it is not necessary to complete the English B1 OFA. However, a knowledge of English at the B1 level of the CEFR ((Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) is strongly advised in order to be able to follow the course in a profitable manner. Students who matriculated prior to this time must have completed the English B1 OFA, without which the English 2 exam cannot be registered.
