The course is part of one of the educational activities of the Minor in "Economics and work of digital innovation" and allows the student to acquire the knowledge and understanding of the foundations of an absolutely strategic topic for companies in this phase of epochal transformation.
The great digitization we are witnessing involves all sectors and all businesses, none excluded. The market today requires highly motivated figures who know how to manage innovation processes: they don't necessarily have to be IT experts, but they are required to know how to manage innovation processes and organizational systems. Therefore, knowledge of the principles and main technologies on the subject is essential: to this end, the student will be provided with a precise knowledge of the operating mechanisms of Industry 4.0 and of the main technologies supporting the various business phases (from production to logistics) .

The course is aimed at all those students who do not have a technical or economic profile, but who have the curiosity and urgency to understand the great transformations taking place. At the end of the course the student, regardless of background, will be able to fully master the concepts related to industry 4.0, will be able to navigate the different technologies available on the market.
1. KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
- general knowledge of the principles of Industry 4.0
- knowledge of the main European and international innovation policies

2. ANALYSIS CAPACITY
- ability to analyze the possible technological needs of the company
- ability to analyze the main technologies available on the market
- ability to analyze the areas on which to engage technological innovation processes

3. JUDGMENT CAPACITY
- ability to evaluate the compatibility between the technological offer and the company need with reference to the reference market
- ability to evaluate which business area can potentially be impacted by advanced technology

4. LEARNING CAPACITY
- ability to learn the various functions of the various technological tools on the market
- ability to learn the different impacts of enabling technologies in relation to the various company functions

The course will cover many topics including:

- THE PRINCIPLES OF INDUSTRY 4.0 IN PRODUCTION
- METHODS OF APPROACHING INDUSTRY 4.0: HOW INNOVATION CAN CHANGE THE APPROACHES OF COMPANIES
- THE PRINCIPLES OF INDUSTRY 4.0 IN THE DIFFERENT COMPANY STAGES: PRODUCTION, MAINTENANCE, LOGISTICS, RETAIL AND AFTER-SALES
- THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN INNOVATION AND SUSTAINABILITY
- THE NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL FRAMEWORK FOR FINDING FINANCIAL FUNDS TO SUPPORT THE DIGITAL TRANSITION
- ESG - SUSTAINABILITY - CONTINUING TRAINING
- TOWARDS INDUSTRY 5.0 - TECHNOLOGY AT THE SERVICE OF MAN
During the lessons, slides will be illustrated together, for those who wish, with a bibliography tailored to individual needs.

Oral presentation of a topic covered in class: the student will be able to choose a topic covered in class and present it on the day of the exam. Where possible, the student's effort to develop a hypothesis of application of the concepts learned in the classroom to his or her field of study and/or work will be particularly appreciated.
The lessons will be entirely i held n presence through a frontal method.

Furthermore, within the course there will be numerous testimonials with the following profiles:
1. manager of leading companies in the innovation sector
2. Innovation-savvy multinational executives
3. innovation and digitization consultants

With them it will be of course allowed to interact and understand, where possible, any conditions of internships
